Buffy Martines has spent her legal career working with many of the top trial lawyers in America . Her practice covers number of fields including: civil litigation, products liability, complex litigation and mass torts, commercial litigation and civil appeals.

Buffy received a Bachelor of Science degree from Lamar University in 1993 and her Master of Arts degree from the University of Houston in 1997. She earned her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 2002. While attending law school, Buffy was a member of the school's nationally recognized moot court team where she and her teammates won the best brief award and national championship at the George Washington University National Security Law Moot Court Competition. Additionally, she received numerous honors including election to the Order of Barristers and Phi Delta Phi Honor Society as well as winning the Shea Lynn Maloney Advocacy Award and the T. Gerald Treece "Heart of the South Texas Advocate" Award.

From 2002-2006, Buffy was an associate with the law firm of O'Quinn, Laminack & Pirtle. During her time at the O'Quinn firm she worked in the firm's mass tort division which encompassed a number of medical device and pharmaceutical dockets. She participated in the trial and subsequent appeal of a record setting historical verdict awarded to the family of a woman who died as a result of her ingestion of the "fen-phen" diet drug combination.

Buffy is admitted to practice before the State Bar of Texas, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She is a member of the Houston Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, the State Bar of Texas, and the American Bar Association.
