Susan Earnest

Associate

Susan Earnest is an accomplished attorney specializing in mass tort and complex litigation, with a primary focus on representing individuals who have endured complications arising from dangerous and defective medical devices and drugs. She is licensed in both the Texas and Louisiana state courts.

Beyond her courtroom advocacy, Susan actively engages in effecting change at the governmental level. In 1995 and 1997, she lobbied the Louisiana Legislature on behalf of the Louisiana Association for Justice. Additionally, in 2001, Susan lobbied the United State Congress on behalf of the Women's Trial Lawyers Caucus of the American Association for Justice.

Susan holds degrees from Northwestern State University and Tulane Law. During her free time, she enjoys walking her lab, Buddy, and watching the LSU Tigers.

Areas of Practice

Currently, Susan is pursuing compensation for clients who have suffered kidney injuries due to the use of antacid drugs such as Nexium, Prilosec, and other proton pump inhibitors. She is involved in pre-trial discovery, collaborating with and presenting expert physicians for direct examination and cross-examination of defense physician experts.

Susan is also actively representing young adults who have been adversely affected by the e-cigarette manufacturer, JUUL. Her legal expertise is instrumental in serving as counsel for a governmental entity engaged in litigation against JUUL, with allegations of unfair and deceptive marketing and sales practices. 

Previously, Susan has successfully represented women who suffered harm from implantable pelvic mesh and silicone breast implants. Her dedicated efforts have made significant contributions to the Plaintiffs Steering Committee for the Louisiana Breast Implant Class Action, specifically in the case of Spitzfaden, et al. vs. Dow Corning. 

Some of her most rewarding cases involved representing clients who were unjustly denied health benefits for their cancer treatment. In one notable instance, she successfully obtained a pre-trial settlement with a renowned national health insurance company during mediation.
